NGIF CLEANTECH VENTURES LEADS INVESTMENT IN GALATEA TECHNOLOGIES TO DIGITIZE THE WASTEWATER DISPOSAL SECTOR

February 3, 2022

CALGARY, AB (February 1, 2022) NGIF Cleantech Ventures (the Fund), a Canadian venture capital fund investing in cleantech innovation in the natural gas sector, today announced an equity investment in Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company Galatea Technologies (Galatea). Galatea is redefining the waste and water disposal sector with an integrated platform that allows users to both utilize and market excess disposal facility capacity while providing digital waste manifesting that can help meet regulatory compliance obligations.

“Galatea is digitizing the antiquated wastewater disposal process through their proprietary routing algorithm and digital ticketing solution. We believe that Galatea will be able to deliver emissions reductions, cost savings, and revenue generation for its impressive and growing roster of customers,”  said John Adams, NGIF Cleantech Ventures Managing Partner. “We are proud to partner with Chad and his team to accelerate the commercial rollout of their next-generation platform for water disposal.”

Galatea provides an intelligent logistics and scheduling optimization system that has the potential to revolutionize the way natural gas producers dispose of waste and water. Through its flagship Waste Coordinator product, Galatea is offering the only application that calculates the optimal transportation and disposal decision and digitizes every waste, water, and emulsion load while automating the foundational workflow.

“We are thrilled to partner with NGIF Cleantech Ventures as we embark on the next stage of our Company’s growth,” said Chad Hayden, Chief Executive Officer of Galatea Technologies. “This important strategic investment from NGIF Cleantech Ventures is a key step to reaching more customers across Canada and the United States.”

“Water management and disposal is an often-overlooked facet of energy production. To meet the energy needs of Canadians, producers require a solution to dispose of wastewater safely and efficiently. Investments in companies such as Galatea provide tangible benefits across the industry and value chain,  while delivering a solution to meet the highest standards for wastewater management.” said Timothy M. Egan, President and CEO of the Canadian Gas Association (CGA).
