NGIF Accelerator Releases Industry Grants Program Performance Report 2025, Marking a Decade of Cleantech Commercialization

September 3, 2026

CALGARY, AB (September 03, 2026): NGIF Accelerator (NGIF) today released the Industry Grants Program Performance Report 2025, a comprehensive account of ten years of industry-led cleantech innovation and commercialization to lower emissions across Canada’s natural gas value chain.

The Industry Grants (IG) program, NGIF’s flagship initiative, provides non-dilutive funding to startups and small and medium-sized enterprises developing technologies at technology readiness levels 4 through 9. As of the end of 2025, the program approved 114 projects, accelerated the commercialization of 13 technologies, and approved approximately CAD $32MM in grant funding, enabling a total eligible project value of CAD $368.9MM.

“Ten years in, the numbers confirm that industry-led innovation and validation work,” said John Adams, President and CEO of NGIF Accelerator. “The 114 projects in this report were shaped by innovators and operators who understood technology development in emissions reduction, tested at real facilities, and held to the standards of the sector we serve. That is why 13 technologies have crossed into commercial markets and why our IG program has moved nearly $370MM in total project value. As we enter our second decade, our focus is scale: deepening the commercialization support we provide and broadening our industry-led model to accelerate innovation for the natural gas industry.”
