NGIF ANNOUNCES A SOFT LAUNCH OF ITS NEW OFFICE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CALGARY

December 20, 2022

CALGARY, AB (December 20, 2022) NGIF Capital Corporation (NGIF), a Canadian venture capital firm focused on the commercial implementation of clean technologies for the gaseous energy industry, announced today the soft launch of it’s main office in Calgary. This main office will house staff from NGIF Capital Corporation’s three divisions: NGIF Cleantech Ventures, NGIF Industry Grants, and NGIF Emissions Testing Center.

With Calgary fast becoming a leading tech startup and innovation ecosystem, the office, located at 105B – 906, 8 Ave SW within the University of Calgary’s downtown campus, is a response to the growing demand for NGIF’s professional services. Calgary is home to major players in the natural gas value chain, and the new office will serve as a bridge between the innovation ecosystem and our corporate partners.

The Calgary office supports NGIF’s expansion goal and triples the office footprint to include the corporate headquarters in Ottawa and a satellite office in Montreal. Abdul Qadir, Director of Corporate Finance and Accounting, will manage the Calgary office.

“Our Calgary office, co-located at the University of Calgary’s downtown campus, is the beginning of an evolving partnership at one of Canada’s most prestigious universities. What I like about this model is our close proximity to the talent and startup pool and access to their early-stage research and emerging startups,” said John Adams, President and CEO of NGIF Capital and Managing Partner, NGIF Cleantech Ventures.

“We are excited to bring this model to Calgary through our new partnership with NGIF. It has tremendous potential for positive impact on the energy industry,” says Dr. William Ghali, Vice-President (Research) at the University of Calgary. “NGIF’s presence on our campus will create opportunities for researchers to connect with industry and potential investors to help get their energy innovations to market.”
